CHASE Africa (https://www.chaseafrica.org.uk/) is a UK-based NGO originally founded in 2000 as The Rift Valley Tree Trust, with an initial focus on tree planting in Kenya. Realizing the deep link between poverty, environmental degradation, and lack of access to reproductive healthcare, the organization shifted its focus in 2012 to community health and sustainable development, renaming itself CHASE Africa. The NGO now supports primary healthcare and family planning programs in remote areas through 14 partners across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. To date, it has delivered over 640,000 family planning services and 1.5 million basic health services. CHASE Africa emphasizes gender equality by promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights, believing this empowerment helps break the cycle of poverty and strengthens communities. Its work is rooted in a community-focused, cost-effective, and rights-based approach, strengthening existing health systems and supporting long-term local partnerships. In addition to funding, CHASE Africa provides technical support, training, and facilitates knowledge sharing through the CHASE Africa Partner Network and its annual conference, promoting best practices and replicable models across East Africa.
